Urban forests across the United States are already changing in response to the changing climate, and natural resource professionals increasingly need to address new challenges for management and conservation.
The Climate Change Response Framework developed the Forest Adaptation Resources: Climate Change Tools and Approaches for Land Managers which provides a suite of materials to help land managers consider climate change and increase the ability of forests to cope with climate change impacts. It does not provide specific recommendations, but rather serves as a decision-support tool for incorporating adaptation considerations into current management objectives. This publication highlights a "menu" of adaptation strategies and approaches that are directly relevant to urban forests of the Northeast and upper Midwest.
