Stephen Handler is the coordinator for the Northwoods Climate Change Response Framework. He has worked with partners on climate change vulnerability assessments, adaptation planning, and all kinds of educational events. Stephen focuses on the states of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.
In addition to thinking about adaptation related to forest management, Stephen has been thinking about how adaptation ideas can translate to topics like wildlife management, logging practices, and indigenous perspectives of land management. Before joining NIACS in 2011, Stephen worked for 3 years in the areas of forest carbon assessment and climate change mitigation.
Stephen is a member of the American Society of Adaptation Professionals.
