Northwoods Demonstration Projects

On-the-ground adaptation demonstration projects engage forest owners, natural resource managers, and others in discussions of potential climate change impacts and solutions,  test new ideas generated, and provide real-world examples of climate change adaptation in forests.

Demonstration projects are under development in the Northwoods. Natural resource managers will use the vulnerability assessment and Forest Adaptation Resources to identify actions that will enhance the ability of forests to cope with change and sustain ecological functions and key services. The actions are selected by the land owners and managers to help them achieve their management goals, and these actions are then implemented and monitored for their effectiveness.

Multiple demonstration projects are in development to address a variety of issues related to a changing climate. Use the filter below to learn more about demonstration projects in the Northwoods or by state. Learn more about how demonstration projects fit into the Framework here.
