Central Hardwoods Joint Venture

Our interactions and activities in the Framework:

The Central Hardwoods Joint Venture (CHJV) is represented on the Regional Coordinating Committee for the Central Hardwoods Framework project. The CHJV also provides expertise and input into the vulnerability assessment and will work to incorporate model results into its conservation planning efforts.

Our broader climate change activities and perspectives:

The Central Hardwoods Joint Venture (CHJV) is a partnership of state and federal government agencies and non-governmental organizations who work together to ensure the long-term viability of native bird populations. One task of the CHJV is conservation planning, which involves identifying priority species for conservation efforts, assessing the status of species populations and threats to their sustainability, and identifying the location and amounts of habitat required to sustain populations at desired levels. Climate change is one of the threats to sustainability of bird populations in the region.
