Bayfield Regional Conservancy

Our interactions and activities in the Framework:

The Bayfield Regional Conservancy supports the Northwoods Climate Change Response Framework in Wisconsin by applying resources and adaptation strategies identified through the Framework in management plans and conservation easements. More specifically, the Conservancy worked with the Friends of the Lincoln Community Forest, the Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources, and the Northern Institute of Applied Climate Science to incorporate climate change considerations into the forest stewardship plan for the Lincoln Community Forest. This demonstration of forest adaptation can serve as an example to other forest owners.

Our broader climate change activities and perspectives:

The Bayfield Regional Conservancy preserves the special places you love in Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas and Sawyer Counties. We work with citizens, local government, private landowners, tribes and state and federal agencies to protect important habitats on Lake Superior, northwoods forests, inland lakes, rivers, wetlands, and farmland. We believe that a healthy environment is vital to healthy communities and nature inspires us and nourishes our soul.  We hope you will visit some of these special places.
